The Board will be meeting on Saturday the 19th at Noon.
Agenda will be to finalize details for Festival.
On behalf of the board of Second Pride, I would like to extend a HUGE thank you all the designers, entertainers and patrons who came to and participated in Fashion Pride, a benefit for ACT (Aids Committee of Toronto). This wonderful event raised L$119,652 through sales of exclusive items and direct donations.
There are many thanks to be given. First off Merrick Genesis for organizing and kicking off this event. It would never have happened without him. World Undercroft and his team for working with Merrick and helping with some of the building. Thank you to Zib Skaggs of Zibska, and Kip Ashbourne and Chaz Longstaff of Blue Balls for their generous sponsorship of events and providing gifts. A real big thank you to Marcus Lefevre of Master S&M Estates and RGF Estates for the very generous donation of the sim for this event. Thanks to Regi Yifu for supplying the store buildings.
This was a great fashion event with amazing contributions from a wide variety of designers (the full list is here). They contributed time and donated items that were sold exclusively to benefit ACT and any great fashion event has runway events. This week saw 2 great runway events. First one was the Babylon Fashion Show (video can bee seen here), organized and produced by October Bettencourt. The second show featured the men of Le Garcons, a big thank you to Erik Bayn, Lex Demonista, and Apollo Call for putting together this event.
Thank you to DJ Regi Yifu, Esme Capelo and SL Live Radio, DJ JohnyA, DJ Kaj and Tamra Sands for providing us with great entertainment throughout the week.
And finally the SP team who stepped in to assist where needed when things became a little crazy. Thank you Andy Long, Sutry and the security team, Jak Calcutt, Marge Beaumont and Karl Kalchek.
An event of this size takes alot of effort by a great deal of people to pull off, I hope that I haven’t forgotten anyone. The great work of everyone is appreciated.

Second Pride Chairperson
The election is over!!
The results are in and I congratulate all of the newly elected members of the Board.
This has been a particularly contentious election. Passions have run high and I think I am not alone in saying this it got really ugly at times. In looking back at many of the candidates statements, I am pleased to see the many thoughtful and constructive comments made by all of the candidates. I would hope to see these ideas and their passions refocused towards helping Pride achieve it’s goals and embracing the entire LGBT community. The new Board will need all the help and support that ALL of us can give them. Pride is bigger than any of us and it’s mission is more important than our individual aspirations.
Personal goals and personal issues need to be set aside for the future of Pride.
Pride has gone through this process many times and has always continued to grow and become a more central focus of the greater LGBT community. This year the Board has the opportunity to expand Pride into many more and diverse corners of our community. My only suggestion to the new Board is weigh your decisions against the standard…”what is best for Pride”.
I would hope that all of our actions during the next few weeks could be based on that standard. I trust that all of us and the new Board will …”do what is best for Pride”.
your outgoing Chairperson
